ELDT
What is ELDT?
ELDT stands for Entry Level Driver Training - a Federal mandated training program which is required for anyone who would like to obtain a commercial drivers license or add endorsements to their cdl.
-
First-Time Class A or Class B applicants
-
CDL Upgrades - Class B to a Class A
-
Endorsements - Hazardous Materials (H), Passenger (P), or School Bus (S)
Since February 7, 2022 the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, FMCSA, requires that al CDL applicants complete ELDT from a registered training provider – and MIDWEST CDL TRAINING is proud to be one of them.
There are two components to meet the Federally mandated trainings in order to be eligible to test:
-
Part 1: ELDT Theory courses
-
Part 2: ELDT Behind the Wheel - Road/Range Training
-
Minimum of 6 hours is Federally Required
-
-
Registered Training Provider must sign the individual off from all parts of the ELDT in order to be eligible to test for the license.
